Atamisqui is located in the Province of Mendoza, south of the Chañares Herrados license. The license is a large block of 109,000 acres (436 Sq.Km.) and includes three oil producing fields – Tierras Blancas Norte, Atamisqui, and El Quemado.
The license was discovered in 1974 and it has more than 8.7 MMbbls of accumulated production. The crude oil is paraphinic and has a 28 °API average with very small volumes of gas used for field consumption. There are in total 57 wells drilled, of which 14 are oil producers and 3 water injectors. Approximately 25 wells remain to be abandoned.
