Refugio-Tupungato is located in the Province of Mendoza, slightly north of the Chañares Herrados license. It is a relatively small block of 6,770 acres (27 Sq.Km.) The area includes two long-lived oil producing fields – Refugio and Tupungato.
Since its discovery it has an accumulated production of more than 66 MMbbls of crude oil. Refugio-Tupungato has in total 105 wells drilled, of which 36 are oil producers and 6 water injectors. Approx. 45 wells remain to be abandoned. The oil produced has a 32°API on average. In addition, there are small volumes of associated gas used for field consumption.
